Striped, Confused, and Lost in a Cornfield
Hola,
This week we were able to partake in the magical experience of Shatto Milk, a local milk place (or what country folk call a dairy farm). For whatever reason, I had been looking forward to it for at least two weeks. And a good time was had by all, especially since we saw cows.
We had an incredible conversation with a member about the Church and the Gospel and how those two things interact. She is so nice, and she was extremely kind to one of other investigators.
We had an incredible zone conference with the funniest pictures. Almost lmost everyone’s companions got cut out of the photos because of how nervous everyone was as they tried to take the photos for the area authority who was visiting. The zone conference was really good though. The Area Authority’s demeanor and the way he talked to us taught me a lot about teaching. It was also cool because he was the first person to give a talk at General Conference in his native language.
This Sunday was my favorite because I got to sit by the kids of one of the new members and it was so fun to talk to them and help them. I got to show the youngest pictures of Jesus and she talked to me for the first time. I had been trying for almost a month, but she didn't like me enough. But when I asked her who was in the picture, she said Jesus. It was the first word she ever said to me. I gave her sister a picture of Jesus and she said she liked it. It was honestly one of my favorite moments and it was really special to me, because that's the sort of thing that really matters. That connection and love in whatever form it may be.
We were in Relief Society and it was so sweet because there were this sister who started passing Tic Tacs to the person on her left, then her right (down the whole row). She passed it behind her and gestured to pass it to us, and then passed it along that row and the row behind her. And when they got back to her, she took one, stood up and set it on the podium for the teacher, who stopped the lesson and just said "Thank you, Hermanita.” It was so sweet to watch as everyone laughed together and just loved each other.
And of course we saw a zebra on the side of the highway standing in a little forest on the outskirts of a cornfield.
Hermana d*clever pun
